Therefore, it is pleased to relieve our beloved Akeem Dawson from his early duties and transition him from labor to reward on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Memorial Hospital in Savannah, Ga.
Akeem was preceded in death by his grandparents, Shirley (Calvin) Fraley and Arthur Lee Foreman; uncle, Christopher Jones who played a vital role in his childhood & early adulthood.
He was affectionately known as Shaq. Shaq was the youngest of his 4 siblings. As a child Shaq loved to watch WWE wrestling, cooking, and playing his video games. He grew a passion for clothing & sneakers. He enjoyed cooking for his family and caring for his kids and nieces.
In 2015, he graduated from Baldwin High School and later furthered his education by pursuing Welding at Central Georgia Technical College.
Shaq was the most humblest, laid back person you could ever meet. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories; one daughter, Carmari Dawson; twin sons, Hendrix and Harlem Dawson; parents, Sabrina Foreman and Reginald Dawson; three sisters, Chaskia Foreman, Shay’Nique Dawson, both of Milledgeville, GA, and Jazzmine Allen of Dublin, GA; one brother, Shay’Chez Dawson of Milledgeville, GA; grandparents, Lillie Jones and Bobby Warren, both of Milledgeville, GA; four nieces, Johnilla Weaks, Daa’Myiah & Daa’Laya Gray, and A’Mora Havior; one nephew, Ja’Vez Foreman, all of Milledgeville, GA; three uncles, Stacy Foreman, Tarus (Tanya) Warren, and Greg Dawson, all of Milledgeville, GA; one aunt, Brenda (David) Simmons of Macon, GA; devoted girlfriend, Asheley Webb; devoted cousin, Cha’Tori Jones; a loving host of cousins, aunts and uncles also survives him.
